I think they've made the decision based on the long term. Everyone posting "losing tonight and Sunday" is ridiculous. It's not just about the results tonight and Sunday. It's about how seriously they should take the Europa League. The squad is not deep enough to contend in it seriously. The priority is the Prem which it should be.
Is the team for tonight disappointing? As a fan to a degree yes, but let's be honest the Europa matches have been sh*t.
They have weighed the long term risk/reward and Europa is not worth it, unless they can get a result with a weak squad.

Burke and Henry have both travelled I believe. Reid may not make it for Sunday which leaves us Ogbonna, Tomkins and Collins as senior CBs, hence perhaps Slav isn't risking them.

As I said we could have rested most of the first teamers for Sunday and still put out a much stro ger side tonight. This is just suicide. Sure we may somehow still get a result but we have given ourselves the slimest of chances now.
Burke, Oxford, (did Henry go?) even Ogbana could have gone as we have plenty of CBs, don't understand that one at all.
Amafitano and Jarvis, Samualson and maybe Zarate could all have played a part too. One or two others could have also played a part as we are allowed 3 subs, no?
Shocking decision this.
